For a large group, I’d choose one major activity for the day, then leave room around it.
Dallas Zoological Society is a natural choice when several generations are traveling together. The Dallas Zoo is three miles south of downtown and spans 106 acres, so this is an outing worth giving some time rather than squeezing between several other stops. The zoo recommends reserving tickets online before visiting, and its hours vary seasonally.
For a weather-proof option, Perot Museum of Nature and Science works across a surprisingly wide age range. The museum has interactive science and nature exhibits, while its Moody Family Children’s Museum is specifically designed for children age 7 and younger.
And sometimes you don’t need another ticketed attraction. Klyde Warren Park gives families green space in the middle of the city, with a dedicated children’s area, games, food options and regularly scheduled activities.

Build Downtime Into the Reunion
The best Dallas family reunion isn’t necessarily the one with the fullest itinerary.
This may be the most important tip in the entire guide:
Schedule nothing.
Seriously.
Leave an afternoon open. Come home after lunch. Let the toddler sleep. Let Grandpa put his feet up. Give the teenagers some independence. Start a pool tournament. Sit on the patio. Order food instead of coordinating another restaurant outing.
That isn’t wasted vacation time.
For a family reunion, that is the vacation.
